Where each item goes in Shopify, and what we check before launch.
| WooCommerce / WordPress | Where it goes in Shopify | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Products & variations | Products, variants, SKUs, barcodes, prices and inventory. | Parent–variant links, duplicate SKUs, price accuracy and real option combinations. |
| Attributes & custom fields (ACF) | Options, metafields or metaobjects, depending on what the field does. | Which fields change the price or the item bought, which are specifications, and how the theme shows them. |
| Categories & tags | Collections, product tags, menus and filters. | Shopify collections are not nested like WordPress categories, so we rebuild the browsing paths customers actually use. |
| Images, files & descriptions | Shopify-hosted media and cleaned product descriptions. | Variant images, shortcodes left in descriptions, and images still loading from the old WordPress site. |
| Digital, bundled or personalized products | A Shopify feature, a suitable app or scoped custom work. | File delivery, bundle stock, customer input and pricing rules. A standard import does not recreate these. |
| Stock & locations | Inventory by location and the agreed fulfillment setup. | SKU matching and the final stock update just before launch. |
| WooCommerce / WordPress | Where it goes in Shopify | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Customer profiles | Names, emails, addresses and available marketing consent. | Duplicate customers, correct order links and consent fields. |
| Order history | Past orders linked to the right customers and products. | Dates, totals, taxes, shipping, discounts and statuses. Original order numbers kept where supported. |
| Open orders & refunds | An agreed plan for orders still in progress. | Where fulfillment and refunds happen. Importing history does not move the original payment. |
| Customer sign-in | A Shopify customer-account setup that suits your customers. | WooCommerce passwords do not carry over. Shopify can sign customers in with an email code; we plan the customer message. |
| Reviews, loyalty & gift cards | A compatible review or loyalty app and an agreed method for balances. | App import support, product links and outstanding balances. |
| WooCommerce / WordPress | Where it goes in Shopify | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Pages & blog posts | Shopify pages and blog articles. | Formatting, internal links, images and page-builder layouts that need rebuilding. |
| SEO titles & descriptions | Your Yoast or Rank Math titles and descriptions, mapped to each page. | Important pages, headings and indexing settings. The plugin itself does not move. |
| Old URLs | An old-to-new URL map and 301 redirects. | Top pages, backlinks and paths Shopify handles differently. |
| Search checks | Shopify theme and SEO settings, checked after launch. | Canonicals, structured data, sitemap and crawl errors. |
| WooCommerce / WordPress | Where it goes in Shopify | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Theme & layouts | A Shopify theme: new, customized or rebuilt to match your current design. | Mobile layouts, navigation, product pages and content your team can edit. WordPress theme code does not run on Shopify. |
| Subscriptions & memberships | A compatible subscription app and a provider-approved migration plan. | Contracts, billing dates, access rules and saved payment methods, before anything is promised. |
| Payments, shipping & taxes | Supported payment providers, shipping rules and the tax settings you approve. | Country and plan eligibility, plus test checkouts. |
| ERP, accounting, email & fulfillment | Supported connectors, or integration work scoped separately. | Which way data flows, product IDs, stock updates, and imports that could trigger emails or orders. |
| Analytics, ads & product feeds | Tracking and sales-channel connections set up again. | Purchase events, duplicate tracking and catalog IDs. Old analytics stays in your existing reports. |
Some features need a paid app, a different Shopify plan or custom development. We name these in the proposal, before you commit.
We take a full copy of your products, customers and orders and start building your Shopify store. Your WooCommerce store keeps selling as usual.
Just before launch, we move every order and customer that came in since the first export, whether the build took 4 weeks or longer for testing or your schedule.
We switch your domain to Shopify, turn on the redirects and check the live store with you.
Orders can still reach WooCommerce in the short window before the switch is complete. We move those too, even if it is just one order.
Keeping products in sync is just as important as orders.

Explore theme & design →Custom apps, integrations and workflows when standard Shopify features don’t cover a requirement.
Explore app development →Technical SEO, collection and product optimization, site structure and content after the move.
Explore Shopify SEO →Google Ads, Meta Ads, social media, email and SMS, planned around your products and customers.
Explore ecommerce marketing →Migration is quoted on its own. Theme work, apps, SEO and marketing are added only if you want them, each with its own scope and price.
Examples of common approaches, not automatic one-to-one replacements. App choices, monthly costs and any gaps are reviewed for your store.
| Your question | Self-service migration tool | Migration managed by WEP |
|---|---|---|
| Who defines the scope? | You choose the records and options the tool supports. | We review your business and document what moves, what is rebuilt and who does what. |
| Who checks the result? | Your team checks the import, with help depending on the package. | We compare records, investigate exceptions and review the storefront with you. |
| What happens to plugin features? | Rebuilding them is usually a separate job. | We map each important feature to a Shopify feature, an app or scoped custom work. |
| Who builds the storefront? | You, a theme, or another developer. | Our team: a new theme, a customized theme or your current design rebuilt on Shopify. |
| Who runs the launch? | Your team coordinates the build, integrations and switch-over. | We run the final data update, domain switch, redirects and live checks. |
| Who is it suited to? | A simple store with someone free to manage the rest of the move. | A merchant who wants one experienced team to manage the whole agreed project. |
Some tool providers also sell managed services with custom mapping and checks. When you compare, look at the whole scope: data, storefront, plugin features, integrations, SEO, launch and support.
A platform change can affect rankings. Careful planning reduces the avoidable risks; no one can honestly guarantee unchanged rankings.
Example mapping. Shopify has some redirect limits, so unusual paths are tested before launch.
The online store migration was seamless without having 0 downtime. The staff is properly trained, well communicated and proactive Highly recommended
Web commerce pros created a really lovely design for our website. They also changed the layout for our images and updated/resized images so that the site is overall much more attractive. We have been receiving a lot of positive feedback from customers on the ease of use and the overall look of our site. In addition, we are very grateful to Roy for coming up with a creative solution for allowing customers to easily create their own quotes, which has been very helpful to both our operations and our customers.
Arfat and team were proficient with BigCommerce Page Builder and Shogun to create and modify pages. We successfully completed the migration with their assistance and were happy with their work. We would hire again soon for our next project.

We scope everything your store needs to run on Shopify: the data transfer, the storefront, replacements for important plugins, integrations, SEO preparation, testing and launch. Your proposal lists the records, features, responsibilities and exceptions included. A data-only migration and a complete store rebuild are different scopes, and we quote whichever you need.
Often, but not automatically. Shopify removes the hosting, security updates and plugin maintenance you manage on WordPress. Custom requirements, apps, payment options and running costs still need a review. We look at how your business works before recommending the move, and tell you when a WooCommerce feature will work differently on Shopify.
A self-service app can work well for simple data when someone on your team can manage the rest of the project. We review the source store, plan the Shopify setup, investigate data problems, rebuild features and coordinate the launch. We use migration tools and our own scripts inside that process, so you are not left managing the project around a tool.
We have more than 20 years of ecommerce experience across the major shopping cart platforms, plus Shopify expertise as a Shopify Partner. For this move, our WooCommerce and WordPress knowledge helps us understand the plugins, data structures and business rules you are leaving behind. We can also build, market and grow the Shopify store after launch.
After you approve the project, we ask for access to WooCommerce, WordPress, Shopify and connected tools through a secure onboarding step, limited to the work needed. We agree backups, file transfers and when access is removed. You never need to send passwords or customer exports through a website form.
Yes, once we have reviewed them. We map each field to Shopify options, variants, metafields or another suitable structure. A field that is only a specification should not become a purchase option. Complex option combinations, product add-ons and app compatibility are tested on sample products before we confirm the final approach.
Customer profiles, addresses and supported order history can be migrated. Existing WooCommerce passwords cannot be imported for Shopify sign-in. Shopify’s customer accounts can sign customers in with a one-time email code instead of a password, so most customers just enter their email. We agree the setup and the message your customers receive.
We assess each one separately. We review order fields and statuses, your review app’s import options, and whether your discount rules can be recreated in Shopify. Imported orders are records: they do not move the original payment, and Shopify reports may not match WooCommerce reports exactly. Anything unsupported is listed before you approve.
We agree the checks for your scope, then compare record counts between WooCommerce and Shopify and review key fields such as SKUs, prices, stock and order totals. Complex products and customer journeys get extra checks. We investigate every exception and go through the results with you before you approve the launch.
Yes. We review both the WooCommerce and Shopify stores, find missing records, duplicates, overwritten content and app side effects, and check what changed since the first import. Then we propose a recovery plan: repair, update selected records or repeat part of the migration.
Your WordPress theme and plugin code cannot run on Shopify. We can rebuild the design you like on Shopify, customize a Shopify theme, or set up a new one. Plugin features are rebuilt with Shopify features, apps or custom development. We list important differences and any monthly app costs so you can approve each replacement.
We check your current gateway, subscription plugin and the Shopify app you will use before confirming a route. Billing contracts, membership access and saved payment methods have separate requirements. Some provider-supported routes keep subscriptions running; other setups need customers to re-enter payment details. Card details cannot simply be exported.
We review each connection instead of assuming it moves with your products. Supported connectors are set up and tested within the agreed scope; custom integrations may need extra development. We also plan product IDs, purchase tracking, and how to stop imports from sending emails or creating fulfillment requests.
No one can guarantee unchanged rankings. We reduce the avoidable risks: we record your current rankings and top pages, map old URLs to new ones, set up 301 redirects, carry over titles and descriptions, check the content, and monitor search results after launch. Design, content and URL changes are planned together so important pages are not missed.
Usually, yes. We move the pages, posts and images you need into Shopify’s pages and blog. Page-builder layouts may need rebuilding. Your existing domain connects to Shopify, and we plan the DNS changes so your business email keeps working.
We quote after a free review of your store. The main factors are data volume and quality, theme work, plugin replacements, integrations, content, SEO and testing. Shopify plan costs, paid apps and other third-party services are listed separately, so you can see the full cost of the move.
The data import is only one part of the schedule. Discovery, design, app setup, testing and your approvals take time too. You get a project timeline with the quote, based on your catalog, integrations and launch requirements.
Yes. Your WooCommerce store stays live while we build Shopify. We migrate orders and customers in stages: a first export when we start, a sync of everything new just before launch, and a final catch-up after launch for any order placed in the last few minutes, even just one. You don’t lose orders because the project took longer than planned.
We ask you to freeze product and collection changes while we migrate. Prices and stock are updated at the final sync, so you can keep selling. If you need to change products, keep a simple change log and we’ll apply it. If a log isn’t possible, we run a second catalog migration before launch, and we’ll tell you upfront if that affects the cost.
Yes. You review the Shopify store and the migration checks before you approve the launch. We ask your team to test the workflows that matter most, such as product options, checkout, customer sign-in and fulfillment. Open issues are fixed or agreed with you first.
We stay with you. Every migration includes one month of free support after launch: we fix migration-related issues, move any last orders from WooCommerce and check redirects and search errors. Keep the old store and its data until the final checks are done. After the first month, you can keep us for ongoing Shopify development, SEO or marketing.
Tell us what WooCommerce is holding back and what Shopify needs to do for you. We’ll review your store for free and explain the work involved before you commit.
