Some information imports directly, some needs transformation, and some functionality needs rebuilding. Exceptions and additional costs are documented before approval.
Each item is imported as a record, rebuilt as functionality or kept in an accessible archive. Your proposal says which is which.
Prepare agreed records while BigCommerce remains the live store.
Review Shopify privately and resolve agreed issues.
Update selected changing records and coordinate the domain and system changes.
Check activity around the switch and account for agreed missing records, even one order.
So the switch is planned, not improvised.
Start from a suitable theme and configure it around your brand and catalog.
Adapt a theme’s templates, sections and navigation to the way you sell.
Rebuild the parts of your current BigCommerce design that you want to keep. Theme code is not copied over.
Product templates, brand layouts, navigation and editable sections.
Explore theme & design →Scoped functions and connections where a suitable app doesn’t meet the requirement.
Explore development →The agreed migration checks for URLs, content and metadata, with ongoing optimization as a separate service.
Explore Shopify SEO →Google Ads, Meta Ads, email and other suitable channels to support growth after launch.
Explore ecommerce marketing →Your proposal separates the work. The migration, storefront work, additional development and optional ongoing services are each identified on their own, so you only pay for what you choose.
| In BigCommerce | In Shopify |
|---|---|
| Stocked size and colour combinations | Valid variants, SKUs, prices and stock |
| Personalization text and uploads | Suitable inputs, an app or scoped development |
| Paid extras and option adjustments | A supported implementation with final totals tested |
| Specifications and custom fields | Metafields and editable product content |
| Categories and brands | Collections, navigation, filters and relevant brand content |
| Linked-product choices | Agreed product relationships, pricing and inventory behavior |
These are possible approaches, not automatic replacements. Your proposal confirms the method, costs and limitations.
Shopify’s help center currently lists up to 2,048 variants and up to three options per product (checked October 2026). We also check what your theme, apps and import method support, because a large option set may need a different product structure.
Try the example on the right: pick a size, switch personalization on and type a short instruction.

Shopify B2B features vary by plan. We assess the behavior you need before recommending native features, apps, development or Shopify Plus, and we recheck Shopify’s current plan features when we scope the project.
Review brands, domains, catalogs, languages and shared operations before deciding the Shopify architecture.
Document what each feature does, what replaces it and whether the workflow changes.
Agree how ERP, PIM, inventory, fulfillment, accounting and marketing tools will connect.
A one-time migration and an ongoing connection are different pieces of work. Where both are needed, the proposal defines each separately.
Plan sign-in and customer communication. Keep marketing consent separate from customer records.
Agree where fulfillment, refunds and customer service happen. Prevent imported history from triggering unintended activity.
Assess gift certificates, store credit, subscriptions and saved-payment dependencies separately.
Passwords and payment credentials are not ordinary import fields. The account and payment arrangements are confirmed during scoping.
Redirect coverage depends on your actual URLs and Shopify’s supported behavior. Rankings can change after a platform move, so we don’t promise unchanged traffic.
Illustrative example paths only. We work from your store’s actual URLs, redirects and settings.
The online store migration was seamless without having 0 downtime. The staff is properly trained, well communicated and proactive Highly recommended
Web commerce pros created a really lovely design for our website. They also changed the layout for our images and updated/resized images so that the site is overall much more attractive. We have been receiving a lot of positive feedback from customers on the ease of use and the overall look of our site. In addition, we are very grateful to Roy for coming up with a creative solution for allowing customers to easily create their own quotes, which has been very helpful to both our operations and our customers.
Arfat and team were proficient with BigCommerce Page Builder and Shogun to create and modify pages. We successfully completed the migration with their assistance and were happy with their work. We would hire again soon for our next project.

The store review is free. Your written project scope identifies third-party costs separately, and we confirm price and schedule after the review.
It depends on what you want your next store to do differently. Both platforms are capable, so we compare the proposed Shopify setup with your requirements, explain any gaps and show the complete running costs before you commit. If improving your BigCommerce store is the better route, we’ll say so.
Yes. We are a BigCommerce Partner and an official Shopify Partner, so our advice starts with your business rather than a platform. Both partner profiles are linked at the top of this page.
Yes. If the decision is made, we skip the comparison and start with the review: what you use on BigCommerce today, what moves, what needs rebuilding and what the Shopify project involves. We still flag any gap we find, so there are no surprises later.
Not automatically. Plus is worth considering only when a requirement needs it, for example some B2B or multi-store needs, and Shopify’s plan features change over time. We assess the behavior you need first, then recommend native features, an app, development or Plus.
Modifiers collect customer input or adjust a price, so they aren’t the same thing as stocked variants. We map each one on purpose: it may become a variant, an input field, an app-based option or scoped development, and we test the final price and the order data. Your proposal confirms the method and any limitations.
Usually, where the information is accessible. We map it to Shopify metafields and editable product content, then check it appears where customers and your team expect it.
Group names can be carried over, but importing them doesn’t recreate the pricing rules. We document which buyer should see which products and prices, then rebuild that behavior with native Shopify features, an app or development, and test it buyer by buyer.
We treat B2B Edition as a separate requirement from ordinary customer groups. We list what you use, such as company accounts, buyer permissions, quotes, payment terms and invoice workflows, and propose the Shopify features, apps or development for each one. Shopify B2B features vary by plan, so the plan recommendation follows your requirements.
Often, but the architecture comes first. We review brands, domains, catalogs, languages and shared operations before deciding how the stores are set up on Shopify. Several BigCommerce storefronts don’t automatically become the same number of Shopify stores.
Agreed customer records, addresses and order history can be assessed for import, or kept in an accessible archive where that suits better. We confirm what your store provides and plan the import so historical orders don’t trigger emails, shipments or charges.
Passwords aren’t assumed to transfer. We plan the Shopify customer-account experience you choose and how existing customers get access, and we keep marketing consent separate from account records.
We assess each one separately, because they are promises to your customers. Gift value and credit are reconciled and their treatment agreed. Subscriptions and saved payments depend on the provider and on customer permission, so they may need re-authorization or a different transition.
Some URLs will change, because Shopify uses its own paths for products, collections and pages. We inventory your important URLs, map each useful one to a relevant destination, carry over agreed metadata and check redirects, canonicals and internal links. Rankings can change after any platform move, so we don’t promise unchanged traffic.
Catalog and modifier complexity, pricing and B2B requirements, customer and order history, storefronts and design work, apps and integrations, and content and URL mapping. We confirm the price and schedule in a written proposal after the free review.
Yes. We build the Shopify store separately while BigCommerce stays live, agree a catalog freeze or change log and a cut-off, give selected changing records a final update at launch and reconcile late orders. This is a one-time migration with a final update, not ongoing two-way synchronization.
We check activity around the switch and account for agreed missing records afterwards, even a single order. Who handles any open orders and customer service is agreed in advance.
One month of free post-launch migration support within the agreed scope: agreed data discrepancies, migration-related broken links, late-order reconciliation and issues with included functionality and connections. New features and ongoing development are scoped separately.
Only after the remaining dependencies are checked: domain and DNS changes, business email, required historical records, old integrations and subscriptions, open orders and refunds. You receive a handover checklist rather than a date chosen in advance.
